CrossFit Avalanche was founded by Myles Lewis and Travis Weaver in 2009. Their passion is to spread legitimate fitness to the Tahoe Athlete. Most locals have a love for some or all of the recreation that our environment has to offer whether it be skiing, snowboarding, Nordic, cycling, mountain biking, running, hiking, paddling, etc... CrossFit is a tool to increase the athletic performance for any and all sports.
In summary CrossFit is an all encompassing training program consisting of a wide variety of exercises executed at high intensity. We lift weights, do gymnastic bodyweight exercises and run, row or jump rope for cardio. The combination of resistance training and cardio are extremely effective for getting in better physical shape.

What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, world class skiers and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
